of Association
of
Stonington Village Improvement Association,
Incorporated
Be it known, That we, the subscribers, do hereby associate ourselves
as a body politic and corporate, pursuant to the statute laws of the
State of Connecticut regulating the formation and organization of corporations
without capital stock, and the following are our articles of association:
Article 1. The name of said corporation shall be Stonington Village
Improvement Association, Incorporated.
Article 2. The purposes for which said corporation is formed are the
following, to wit:
(a) to promote and assist the development and maintenance
of all the parks and playgrounds, trees, shrubs and gardens, public
buildings
and historical shrines, that now exist or may come into being in the
Village of Stonington;
(b) to buy, rent, lease, mortgage, build, hold, and sell real and
other property as may be necessary for the purposes of the corporation;
(c) to accumulate a fund for the purposes above specified, to receive
donations, and receive, manage, take and hold real and personal property
by gift,
grant, devise or bequest.
Article 3. The said corporation is located in the Town of Stonington,
County of New London and State of Connecticut, and the location of the
principal office is in the Stonington Library at Water Street.
Article 4. The name of the agent upon whom process may be served is
Morgan K. McGuire, Stonington, Connecticut.
