Margaret Gibson will read from her latest collection of poems, BROKEN CUP, a book which has been described by poet Stephen Dunn as "a great love story." The poems are about memory loss and care giving; about the poems, poet Jane Hirshfield has written: "With this book, Alzheimer's has found its voice." Several of the poems have been read by Garrison Keillor for The Poet's Almanac, and the book has been reviewed in Booklist and Library Journal. An essay on the connection between Buddhism and care giving was published on salon.com in September of 2014.
Open to the public and free of charge.
