Twenty fingers, one piano
Music for piano four-hands is the most intimate chamber music of all, and it often takes us by storm. Join us for a tangy, bright-hued program of duo scores with a seductive affinity for the dance. Our Québecoise duo will open with Poulenc’s piquant Sonate, linger among Bizet’s charming Jeux d’enfants, unveil two movements from Edvard Grieg’s controversial 1st Symphony, and demonstrate unequivocally why Ástor Piazzolla is the very essence of tango. They will conclude with American John Corigliano’s evocative Gazebo Dances, a whirling 1972 homage to dances of the world.
