With Author Ron Rosebottom
Ron Rosbottom will discuss how he came to write a novel on Paris’s darkest years during the 20th century, the German occupation of that city. His book attempts to understand what it was like for all—gentiles, Jews, immigrants, bourgeois, and the occupiers themselves—to live on a daily basis in a city known for its originality, its liveliness, and its imaginative commitment to beauty. All this changed between 1940-1944. He will also speak briefly on the responses he has received from dozens of readers.
