Presentation by Captain Wes Pulver of the National Coast Guard Museum Educational Event at Stonington Harbor Yacht Club

Stonington Harbor Yacht Club will host a presentation by Captain Wes Pulver, Executive Director of the National Coast Guard Association. The Museum which is slated to open in 2022 will engage, educate and inspire visitors from around the world by honoring the courage and skill of the men and women of the USCG. The Museum will explore the Coast Guard’s rich history, current impact on our nation and the world, and its future service through interactive exhibits, programs, public and private partnerships, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) based, life-long learning experiences. Visitors will also see numerous artifacts and history detailing the long history of the U.S. Coast Guard. Captain Pulver will share stories of the history of the Coast Guard from a regional perspective including; the War of 1812, the Rum Wars during Prohibition, and the honored men and women from our local area who contributed so much to our success in World War II. Cost to attend this event is $5 for members of SHYC and $10 for guests. The Clubhouse will be open for dinner following the presentation.
