17th Annual Red Lobdell Regatta

Saturday, July 28th, Stonington Harbor Yacht Club will hold the 17th Annual Red Lobdell Regatta. This yearly event is held in memory of the father of Spike Lobdell, one of the Club's founding members and its second Commodore.  “It is an honor to dedicate this race in tribute to my father who was an avid sailor for many years in these waters”, said Spike.  This event is intended for all boaters, and those who love to have a good time on the water to participate in the race as well as mingle with fellow boaters at the After Race Shore Party for a great time.

First gun will be at 10:30am, this regatta is open to all PHRF rated boats 20ft or longer, all NEMA rated boats.  Any one design with three or more entries will be treated as a class and given a separate start. First gun for Lasers, Ideals and small one designs will be the normal start time of 1:30. This is an ECSA points race. NOR/SI and Registration are available at yachtscoring.com or by calling the Club at 860-535-0112. The Entry Fee is $35 for all boats over 20’ loa. For 20’ and under the fee is $15.

The After Race Shore Party will be held from 5:00pm-7:30pm, cost is $30 per person which includes one drink ticket and pig roast. First, second and third place winners will be announced. Everyone is welcome to attend this fun event at Stonington Harbor Yacht Club, 32 Water Street, Stonington.
