The SVIA is truly a grassroots, community-based organization established to maintain the beauty and charm of Stonington Borough. Everyone anywhere, whether you live in Alpharetta, Georgia, or on Omega Street in the Borough, is strongly encouraged to participate in SVIA activities and to contribute to SVIA goals. What You Can DoThe SVIA has a number of activities that look for volunteers for help, such as the Free Band Concert in August, painting flower boxes in spring, and manning the SVIA coffee station at the Farmers Market during the summer and early fall, to name just a few. Take a look at What We Do to read about a few of the SVIA activities you might be interested in helping with. What You Can GiveIf you don't have much time to spare or you live away from the Borough, you can help by making a donation in whatever amount you can afford, to the SVIA, P.O. Box 18, Stonington, CT 06378. All monies contributed are fully tax-deductible (we'll send you a signed receipt) and will go to Stonington Village Improvement Association projects. The SVIA puts all the funds it raises back into the Stonington community, so whether whether you give a lot or a little, it all helps to improve the community we care so much about. The SVIA is happy to accept corporate matching gifts if your company allows them as well as stock transfers or bequeaths. For further information or questions about donating time or money to the SVIA and our community, please feel free to write us at the address above. |
