**SPECIAL PROGRAMMING CHANGE**
We are profoundly grateful to Stonington harpsichordist Elena Zamolodchikova, well-known to La Grua Center music lovers, for springing in with an appealing and surprising program at the last minute. Acclaimed Boston pianist Stephen Porter was to have played his long-awaited solo recital of Grieg, Chopin works, and Schumann's Davidsbündlertänze, but the lingering effects of a severe cold and ear infection have led him to reschedule his concert for this October. We'll post that date shortly.
Please join us for music for two-manual harpsichord that wonderfully suits Elena's brilliant, heartfelt style: Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer's Euterpe Suite in F, Handel's d-minor Cembalo Suite, Wm. Byrd's Pavana Lachrimæ, and Frescobaldi's incisive Cento Partite. The program will last approximately 65 minutes.
Elena and her instrument will be on our performance platform, to enable all to hear and see optimally. She will play a Flemish double harpsichord kindly loaned by Stonington's Zuckermann Harpsichords.
Suggested donation $10. General admission seating.
