Cannon Square memorializes a special part of Stonington’s history. The two cannon in the park were used by residents to successfully defend the Borough from an attack by the British navy in an August 1814.
In 2010 and 2018 restoration work was done on the cannon and their carriages and both times the SVIA contributed to this important project.
